I lost my husband to cancer. I am young 45. I couldn’t carry on living without him. I am getting phychological help. My kids are teenagers and never home. I was working long hours at work just so I wouldn’t go home to an empty house. I cried all the time with my grief and couldn’t cope with every day life.
My colleague suggested that I get I dog. I thought it would be a lot of work. Eventually I considered it and I got a morkie. My doggie is the best thing that ever happened to me. Now I can’t wait to go home to see him. He is always so happy to see me. He has filled my life with so much joy. I am getting out on walks with him and meeting other dog lovers. Due to his small size, I am able to take him everywhere with me.
I couldn’t sleep at night because “the other half of the bed” was empty. Now there is this cute little warm fur ball that cuddles up beside me and gives me the warmth that I have been missing.
I would recommend to anyone who is suffering from a loss, to consider getting a pet. My dog has provided me more strength to deal with my grief than any breavement group or doctor. When I lost my husband I was filled with so much anger. Now my little doggie puts that smile back on my face.
I lost my soul mate to cancer but I have a new best friend for life.
I just hope that he will be blessed to have a very long life so I don’t have to deal with the grief of losing my buddie.
I don’t think words truly justify what a pet brings into a person’s life. But if someone were to ask me about the 10 reasons why to own a pet, I would say :
01] They bring an infinite amount of love with them.
02] They don’t hold any grudges.
03] They welcome you with an open heart – no matter how badly you treat them.
04] They’re so kissable and huggable.
05] Even if the whole world seems cruel, they show you kindness.
06] Even if you’re complaining non-stop, they will listen to you to scream and yell and moan & be there.
07] They are very intelligent and perceptive.
08] They take you out-doors, where the fresh-air is.
09] They light up any day with their playfulness.
10] They would protect you with their lives.
And this would just be the tip of the ice-berg. Your pet becomes a family-member.
